Gray Flowers

Well, this card was inspired by one of the challenges over on Split Coast as far as the colors go. My layout inspiration came from the card sample on page 4 of the 2007 Fall-Winter Collection Idea Book and Catalog. This is why these catalogs by Stampin' Up! are so great - they are loaded with ideas and inspiration. You could very easily use this layout for any set, by changing the main image and the sentiment or the colors or direction of the card just like I did in my sample. A little more about my card - to achieve the flower look, I stamped Craft White and then embossed it in an iridescent embossing powder I found at Joann's. I wish you could see it in real life - it is so pretty and sparkly and the camera just can't catch that. Anyway, hope you like it!

How it's made: Stamps: Fabulous Flowers, Bronc Buster, Linen Background; Paper: Basic Gray, Weathered Retired Designer Paper, Whisper White; Ink: Basic Gray, Bravo Burgandy, Craft White; Accesories: Brads, Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, Dimesionals; Techniques: Embossing, Distressing
Thanks for Looking! :)

This card was done for a sketch or layout challenge on SCS and I am really happy with the way it turned out. I am in LOVE with those flowers from Close As A Memory and used that set again for it...and it seems as though when I use that set lately, I must go with the blues - Soft Sky, Sahara Sand and Blue Bayou came out to play for this one! I also finally got an idea to use those Jumbo Eyelets and I think I like it! Take a look --- let me know what you think too!

How to make it: Stamp Sets: Close as a Memory, Linen Background, Retired French Script Background; Paper: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Sahara Sand; Ink: Sahara Sand, Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Flowers were markered with Always Artichoke, Brocade Blue, Bordering Blue, Night of Navy; Accesories: Retired Wide Organdy, NEW Jumbo Eyelets, NEW Pretties Kit Hatpin with beads and pearls, Dimensionals for the main panel which is popped up!

Happy Stamping! :)

Fall is in the air! ....or at least on my desk :)

I just love this card I came up with today - one of my "oldies but goodies" stamp sets Carved and Candlelit came out of the closet today to help me out with one of the demo challenges on SCS. I had great fun making this card! One of my favorite things to do is stack those little pumpkins to make a pumpkin "snow man" so to speak. I also like to add brads to the eyes for a different look - so I used both of those ideas in the creation of this card today. Another thing I did was to sand the background which is the Linen Background stamp inked with Wild Wasabi on the Vanilla cardstock - it gave it a really nice and subtle look and I think it came out nice. So..... here's my card - let me know if you have any questions:

Sets Used: Carved and Candlelit, Linen background stamp; Paper: Wild Wasabi, Very Vanilla, Groovy Guava; Ink: Wild Wasabi, Groovy Guava; Punches: Ticket Punch, Word Window; Embellishments: Groovy Guava and Wild Wasabi Double Stitched Grosgrain, Eyelets, Brads; Other Tools/Techniques: Sanding, Crop-a-dile to set eyelets.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

My Dear Hubby!

I just thought that I would share a quick card that I threw together for my most wonderful friend, my husband! I tell him all the time how much I love him, but I thought I would go the extra step tonight and make him a quick card just to let him know how much I care and appreciate him. It's so easy to take our loved ones for granted. He is my rock and my best friend and he does so much for us and I just can't tell him enough how much we really appreciate everything that he does!
